A FAMILY RELAY RACE WAS HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY
Today, our university hosted a family relay competition entitled “Family Drive: Unity in Sports,” dedicated to May 15 – International Day of Families and May 19 – Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
The event was organized by the Department for the Organization of Social and Cultural Activities and Psychological Support. Families of university faculty members and administrative staff participated in the competition.
The main purpose of the event was to strengthen unity and solidarity among families, promote a healthy lifestyle, and emphasize the importance of mutual support.
At the opening ceremony, the Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development of the university, Yedil Tolegenov, delivered a welcoming speech:
“The state begins with the family. As the saying goes, ‘A father is a mighty mountain, a mother is a spring at its foot, and a child is the reed growing by its side.’ Therefore, I believe that today’s family-centered event, which brings together this strong unity, will be held at a high level. May the number of exemplary families continue to grow! May every family’s home be filled with happiness, harmony, and the joyful laughter of children.”
Five teams took part in the competition, with each team consisting of five members.
The first stage, “Family Start,” included relay activities such as running with a ball, sack racing, and passing through tunnels while aiming at designated targets. During this stage, teams competed by overcoming various obstacles.
The second stage, entitled “Unity Tug-of-War,” highlighted the families’ solidarity, trust, and mutual support.
Throughout the competition, participants demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and created a cheerful atmosphere for the audience.
The third stage, “Smart Families,” tested the teams’ quick thinking and ingenuity. Participants selected tickets and answered questions related to sports and proverbs quickly and accurately.
All participating teams displayed strong determination and competitive spirit throughout the event.
