Today, the city of Turkistan hosted the 11th Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials of the Ministries of Education of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
The primary objective of the international meeting was to further strengthen cooperation among Turkic states in the fields of education and science, implement joint projects, and exchange best practices.
During the meeting, representatives of the OTS member states discussed issues related to improving education systems, promoting academic mobility, and expanding cooperation in higher education and scientific research. The participants also exchanged views on implementing common initiatives and promising projects within the shared educational space.
It is worth noting that the 9th Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Organization of Turkic States member countries will take place in Turkistan on June 8, 2026.
The high-level gathering brought together Sayassat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Shynar Akparova, Vice Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Yusuf Tekin, Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye; Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye; Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States; Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic; Durys Kozuyev, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic; Sardor Rajabov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as other members of official delegations.
As part of the Ministers’ Meeting scheduled for tomorrow, participants will discuss key issues in the fields of education and science and are expected to sign a number of important documents aimed at further strengthening cooperation among the member states.
