Grand Prix Victory at the Republican Subject Olympiad!
On April 24–25, 2026, the Republican Subject Olympiad in the Kazakh Language was held at the Institute of Philology of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University. The event was organized by the Department of Theory and Methodology of Kazakh Linguistics and brought together students of non-Kazakh ethnic backgrounds from higher education institutions across Kazakhstan.
Nineteen university teams from different regions of the country participated in the competition. As a result, the team of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University achieved an outstanding result and won the Grand Prix for the first time in the university’s history.
The Olympiad consisted of two stages. During the first stage, participants prepared presentations on the topic “My University and I,” demonstrating their creativity and language proficiency. The second stage focused on reading comprehension. Participants selected one of the proposed texts, read it within three minutes, and then answered questions based on its content. Their communication skills, participation in discussions, logical thinking, and ability to develop a storyline on a given topic were also evaluated.
The winning team included first-year students of the educational program “6B04142 – Economics”: Mekan Agamyradov, Hamid Surkhabi Inayatullah, Sultani Ahmad Sadiq.
Special appreciation is extended to the team leader, Associate Professor Magzhan Saule Magzhankyzy of the Department of Kazakh Philology, as well as to the instructors PhD Associate Professor Marzhan Taldybayeva Darkhankyzy, Associate Professor Sholpan Karsybekova Pernekyzy, and Associate Professor Ainash Dauletova Serikkyzy. Gratitude is also expressed to the faculty members of the University Preparatory Center who teach the “Language Proficiency Development” course for learners from the Republic of Türkiye, Turkic-speaking countries, and related communities.
This achievement is the result of the students’ dedication and the professionalism of their instructors. Winning the Grand Prix is a significant reflection of the university’s success in promoting and teaching the state language.
