The ribbon was cut by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayassat Nurbek, Deputy Akim of Turkestan Region, Beissen Tadzhibayev, and our university’s rector, Zhanar Temirbekova.
The workshop, located on the university’s botanical garden grounds, was established under the commercialization project “Preservation of Valuable Genetic Resources of the Botanical Garden of the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University through Commercial Processing of Bioresources Using Innovative Technologies.”
The project aims to preserve the valuable genetic resources of the botanical garden by applying innovative technologies for the commercial processing of bioresources and producing waste-free products.
The workshop is equipped with modern machinery and performs operations such as washing, cutting, drying, sorting, packaging, and storing fruits. It has the capacity to process 5–7 tons of products per day.
Minister Sayassat Nurbek, after reviewing the workshop and the scientists’ projects, wished the research team success.
In the future, the processed products, including dried apples, pears, apricots, and other fruits, are planned to be supplied to the city of Turkestan and further distributed to other regions of the country.
